Tempus Mosaicum
Tempus Mosaicum is hand-built during the second half of 2006.
The clock is using six Nixie tubes of the IN 18 type. These tubes originate from
old Russian army stocks but were never used. They are considered to be amongs
the most rare and biggest type of Nixies.
The idea for Mosaicum originates from the saying "Time to Pieces".
It is carefully built out of mosaic glass pieces. You will see that the sun and
the moon pay a key-role to its design. Two important "space items"that
control our rhytm, influence the seas tidings and even our moods from time to
time. Choosing for mosaics adds to this. Have you never wandered why time goes
by so fast? Before you know, your agenda is shattered to pieces! Not only that but, as with all of my designs, it also
has a deeper and less obvious purpose... That's the beauty of Art and I leave
that to you to interpret!
